WashCAS is a local forum for the discussion
of computer applications in surgery for clinicians, researchers
and others with interest in image-guided surgery, medical robotics,
medical imaging including MRI and CT, surgical simulation and virtual
reality, radiosurgery and brachytherapy, surgical planning, teleradiology
and other related topics. A bi-monthly meeting will provide participants
with the opportunity to meet with others in your field and see demonstrations
of cutting-edge research and new products with relevance to computer-assisted
surgery. Emphasis will be placed on fostering interaction between
clinicians, engineers and scientists from a variety of disciplines
in university, industry and federal government. These will include
opportunities for engineers to participate in the operating room
and interventional suite, and for physicians to participate in research
and development endeavors in the laboratory and programming suite.
WashCAS will provide a forum for the forecasting
of technological trends and the dissemination of new clinical and
research information with relevance for computer-assisted interventions.
Special interest groups will be created around topic areas of interest
to the members, and will include discussion of practical items such
as patent, regulatory and legal issues, and professional advancement
including job listings.
